I usually work with moodle and I think they are quite different.
We have been working through/with moodle during the course, but a blog allows more personalisation of contents and layout, so it comes out as more appealing perhaps.
This is particularly the case with teenagers and young learners in general, but I think that an online learning experience has to enhance to the maximum the possibilities offered by a multimedia platform, including gadgets.
